A personal blog for Peter Webster. I’m an historian based in London and Chichester, with interests in the history of religion in twentieth century Britain, particularly the relation of church, law and state, and the religious arts.
I work at the interface of historical scholarship with digital technologies, with particular interests in digital history, digitisation more generally, web archiving and digital preservation, and Open Access publishing (repositories and journals). During the working day, I am Web Archiving Engagement and Liaison Officer at the British Library.
I am a Fellow of the George Bell Institute, and a member of the Council of the Church of England Record Society.
I am also a member of the Academic Steering and Advocacy Committee for the Open Library of the Humanities.
